Wedding Timeline and Contact Sheet

Every wedding should have one. Its easier to know the players , phone numbers and locations with a program. I have created a simple fill in the blank form that will help you get started on making a timeline. Timelines are essential to ensure each shot is given the time it deserves, also that each family member or guest knows where he or she needs to be and at what time.

Choosing a Photographer that is Right for You

Selecting a professional photographer for the first time is not easy to do. Each photographer has a particular style and his or her own understanding of what a wedding shoot should consist of. Make a list and ask questions regarding each area you want documented, then enquire as to his or her particular method and style of shooting to ensure a good fit.

For Example

  • I personally do not like flash photography. I avoid it whenever possible, instead utilizing a tripod, a lighting system or long shutter speeds when the situation permits. I utilize flash photography only when necessary to get the shot.
  • Interrupting a ceremony to capture the pivotal moment when a ring is placed on a brides finger is another example. I prefer to recreate moments such as that after the ceremony so as not to be intrusive, also ensuring a quality shot.
  • Traditional vs. non traditional weddings. Research the two and when you have found what you like ask each photographer you speak with to give you their interpretation of each style. This will help you choose the right person for the job.
  • These are just a few areas where photographers differ, there are many to consider.
